The interiors are beautiful. As you enter the townhome, the foyer area is New Orleans style slate. The staircase features wood landings and iron railings. The living area floors are wood with a slate apron by the front French doors that lead to a 6’ X 23” balcony complete with fleur de lis iron work railings.
The kitchen and island feature elegant cherry finish cabinets with a beautiful 3 cm bull nosed granite. All appliances are stainless steel including a side by side refrigerator with ice and water in the door. The upstairs utility room has a stack washer and dryer.
The elevator will make you a lazy person! Enter the garage and the elevator will take you to the second or third floor. It is fully paneled and loaded with safety features and a phone jack. From any floor level, there is a call button and car here button next to the door and other than that, you would never know an elevator was located behind the door. Everyone who has viewed the town homes love them and are extremely impressed!
The lighting fixtures, paint colors, 10 foot ceilings, picture and crown molding are exceptional and we hear over and over that The Oaks Town homes are more elegant and detailed than most developments on the Coast. I assure you that these town homes will far exceed your expectations. Expect to be delighted!!
The balconies afford beautiful views and are spacious enough for tables and chairs as well as patio furniture and plants.
The garage stores two cars and has three large storage areas including one under the staircase big enough to accommodate a chest freezer or bicycles. All have electrical outlets for your convenience.
The entrance features huge double iron electric gates, enhanced with Oaks emblems. The gates are surrounded by classic brick walls and iron fencing, azaleas, jasmine and other southern landscaping. The rear entrance will also feature iron gates and brick walls. Both gates are optimized with safety features for fire, police and emergency.
The views are spectacular, the town homes are beautiful and the beach is back. The water is clearer and bluer than it has been in the past.
Many former casinos have reopened and new ones have come on board, such as Island View in Gulfport and Hard Rock in Biloxi. Harrah’s and Jimmy Buffet’s Margarittaville are also underway in development stages. The industry continues to boom and boost the economy.
Many people that have visited the coast were concerned that they did not see a lot of progress on the beach as far as rebuilding. They assumed homeowners and businesses were not coming back. HOWEVER, nothing could be farther from the truth. The slow progress in re-building on the beach has been due to the fact that there was no utility infrastructure. Water, electric and sewer lines had to be completely replaced. As this process is progressing down Highway 90 (Beach Boulevard), new buildings and businesses are popping up. Before the replacement of these utility services, you could build, but you could not get an occupancy certificate or utilities, much less insurance.
Now the beach highway is showing more and more progress everyday. Many of the lovely old homes on Scenic Drive in Pass Christine have been restored to their former glory and more renovations are still in progress. More mansions were saved than originally thought to have made it through the storm. So much of our history and heritage on the Mississippi Gulf Coast will remain in tact.
Many oaks, cedar and palms have been planted and the beach is continually being graded and groomed. The beaches look great and are being enjoyed by vacationers and locals alike during the week and especially on weekends.
Sailboats and shrimp boats are frequent sites in the Gulf again and the pelicans are back, flying in formation overhead like bomber squadrons. It’s starting to feel very normal on the coast again.
New restaurants and businesses are rebuilding on the beach highway and many homes and developments are coming back.
The “Cruising the Coast” Antique Car Show continues on the coast, and last year the attendance was huge! Many concerts and entertainment venues are back in full swing. So there is a lot to do on the Gulf Coast including just relaxing and enjoying laid back southern living.
The Bay St. Louis Bridge has re-opened and that alone has been a tremendous boost to the Coast bringing an abundance of cars back through the Pass Christian and Long Beach areas. The Ocean Springs Bridge has also opened and completes the connection between Bay St. Louis through Ocean Springs that was lost due to Katrina. There are great walking lanes across both bridges.
Wal-Mart is scheduled to begin rebuilding in Pass Christian this fall and I for one cannot wait!! It is in close proximity to the Oaks and will be a great asset to the community.
RESORT RENTALS ARE DOING VERY WELL AT THE OAKS!
Our furnished units are beautifully decorated, and we are already seeing return renters . We have received rave reviews from vacationers renting townhomes at the Oaks. They offer every convenience a renter can want, and the elevators and garages have been a favorite for renters of all ages.
